Here is a poem to welcome the spring and inaugurate Water Safety Month:
The weather is mild, and sometimes it’s storming. But our love for the water will soon be soaring.
As fun as they are, pools can be risky. Especially for kids, who find danger quite quickly.
Parents can take a few simple steps, to protect and prepare and limit regrets.
Let’s get kids in swim lessons before summer arrives, kicking and floating and surface dives.
For a child who swims, their safety’s much higher. So schedule some lessons at your nearest provider.
Remember that pools must also be guarded, and four-sided fences are highly regarded.
A self-closing gate and a fence with no gaps, are the best ways to keep your child under wraps.
Remind your children to swim with a crowd, and that swimming alone is never allowed.
By talking to kids you’ll give them the tools, to thrive and remain safer around pools.
As you plan to enjoy this beautiful spring, take steps to ensure a safe 2014!
